HOW TO MAKE A SOLAR BOTTLE BULB

How to make a Solar Bottle Bulb

By now you must have heard about “Isang Litrong Liwanag (A Liter of Light)”, a sustainable lightingproject of the MyShelter Foundation, established by business entrepreneur Illac Diaz, which aims to bring the eco-friendly Solar Bottle Bulb to disprivileged communities across the country.

Isang Litrong Liwanag Solar Bottle BulbDesigned and developed by students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the Solar Bottle Bulb is based on the principles of Appropriate Technologies – a concept that provides simple and easily replicable technologies that address basic needs in developing communities.

Poverty-stricken communities in Metro Manila like the Baseco Compound in Tondo have already started to utilize the cheap, solar-powered bulbs to light their homes.

Watch the following video to see how the people of Tondo benefit from the Solar Bottle Bulb, which only costs P100 to P200 to make.

If you want to have your own or replicate this project for your community, here's how to make a SolarBottle Light Bulb:

The needed materials are: 1.5 liter soda bottle, 1’x 1’ roof sheet material, purified water, camera film dispenser, chlorine and a rubber sealant.

Procedure:

Step 1. Fill the 1.5 liter clear soda bottle with purified water then add 3 tablespoons of liquid bleach and tightly seal the cap. Do not use tap water because this will allow the growth of moss.

Step 2. Make a hole in the 1’x1’ roof sheet material, just the same size of the bottle’s circumference and insert the bottom part of the bottle leaving it exposed under the sunlight.

Step 3. Make another hole on the roof of the house (same as the bottle’s circumference) where you want to put the solar bulb and firmly fix the device.

Step 4. Seal the roof with a sealant to prevent raindrops from getting inside the house. It will produce a light when the water inside the bottle bulb refracts and scatters the light inside the house.

The Solar Bottle Bulb is expected to last up to two years before it needs changing.

GUYABANO - ANTI-CANCER FRUIT

Graviola fruit - A miraculous natural cancer cell killer -Part 1

Posted on Jul 05, 2009 under General

The Sour Sop or the fruit from the Graviola tree is a miraculous natural cancer cell killer

10,000 times stronger than Chemo ..
Why are we not aware of this?
Its because some big corporation want to make back their money spent on years of research by trying to make a synthetic version of it for sale.

So, since you know it now you can help a friend in need by letting him know or just drink some sour sop juice yourself as a prevention from time to time. The taste is not bad after all. Its completely natural and definitely has no side effects.
If you have the space plant one in your garden. The other parts of the tree are also useful.

The next time you have a fruit juice, ask for a sour sop.

How many people died in vain while this billion-dollar drug maker concealed the secret of the miraculous Graviola tree?

If there ever was a single example that makes it dramatically clear why the existence of Health Sciences Institute is so vital to Americans like you, it's the incredible story behind the Graviola tree.

The truth is stunningly simple:
Deep within the Amazon Rainforest grows a tree that could literally revolutionize what you, your doctor, and the rest of the world thinks about cancer treatment and chances of survival. The future has never looked more promising.

Research shows that with extracts from this miraculous tree it now may be possible to....

Attack cancer safely and effectively with an all-natural therapy that does not cause extreme nausea, weight loss and hair loss. Protect your immune system and avoid deadly infections Feel stronger and healthier throughout the course of the treatment. Boost your energy and improve your outlook on life

The source of this information is just as stunning: It comes from one of America 's largest drug manufacturers, the fruit of over 20 laboratory tests conducted since the 1970's! What those tests revealed was nothing short of mind numbing...

Extracts from the tree were shown to:
Effectively target and kill malignant cells in 12 types of cancer, including colon, breast, prostate, lung and pancreatic cancer.

The tree compounds proved to be up to 10,000 times stronger in slowing the growth of cancer cells than Adriamycin, a commonly used chemotherapeutic drug!

What's more, unlike chemotherapy, the compound extracted from the Graviola tree selectivelyhunts down and kills only cancer cells. It does not harm healthy cells! The amazing anti-cancer properties of the Graviola tree have been extensively researched-- so why haven't you heard anything about it? If Graviola extract is as half as promising as it appears to be--why doesn't every single oncologist at every major hospital insist on using it on all his or her patients?

The spine-chilling answer illustrates just how easily our health -- and for many, our very lives(!)--are controlled by money and power.

Graviola--the plant that worked too well
One of America 's biggest billion-dollar drug makers began a search for a Cancer cure and their research centered on Graviola, a legendary healing tree from the Amazon Rainforest.

Various parts of the Graviola tree--including the bark, leaves, roots, fruit and fruit-seeds- -have been used for centuries by medicine men and native Indians in South America to treat heart disease, asthma, liver problems and arthritis. Going on very little documented scientific evidence, the company poured money and resources into testing the tree's anti-cancerous properties—and were shocked by the results. Graviola proved itself to be a cancer-killing dynamo.

But that's where the Graviola story nearly ended.
The company had one huge problem with the Graviola tree--it's completely natural, and so, under federal law, not patentable. There's no way to make serious profits from it.

It turns out the drug company invested nearly seven years trying to synthesize two of the Graviola tree's most powerful anti-cancer ingredients. If they could isolate and produce man-made clones of what makes the Graviola so potent, they'd be able to patent it and make their money back. Alas, they hit a brick wall. The original simply could not be replicated. There was no way the company could protect its profits—or even make back the millions it poured into research

If your pet mouse doesn't find the lady mice attractive, he could be lacking in serotonin.

New research from scientists in China argues that the so-called happiness hormone plays a role in the sexual orientation of mice, the BBC reports.

The study, published in the current edition of Nature, finds that male mice bred with brains unreceptive to serotonin lost their preference for female mice. The same was true for mice bred without the tryptophan hydroxylase 2 gene, which is necessary to produce serotonin.

"This is the first time, to our knowledge, that a neurotransmitter in the brain has been demonstrated to be important in mammalian sexual preference," the report said.

Researchers found that when a male mouse was introduced to either of the serotonin-deprived groups, mice from those groups were more likely to pursue and give the male mouse the "mating call."

Just a shot of serotonin to the brain, however, and the preference for female mice was restored.

As for the implications for humans, that remains inconclusive.

"We have been using psychoactive drugs which either increase or decrease serotonin function for quite some time now, and while effects on sexual arousal, impulsivity and aggression have often been reported, no effects on sexual preference/orientation have," Keith Kendrick, a neuroscientist at the Babraham Institute in Cambridge, told the BBC. "At this time, therefore, any potential links between serotonin and human sexual preferences must be considered somewhat tenuous."

Note: DD-size version of the map HERE.
To compliment the wiener one from last week, this is the world map of averagebreast cup sizes. Now I know what you're wondering, "GW -- what's your favorite cup?" Thanks for asking, I'm really into fruit cups. JOKING -- pudding all the way, baby! Now -- before all you American men start high-fiving and motorboating your monitors, our average is a D because we're f***ing fat, not because our women have naturally large bazoongas. Shit, even I'm rockin' B-cups. *squeezing* No, B+*trying to lick nipple*

Proof that women's chests really are a man's 'first fixation' By Helen Dowd, Mail On Sunday Reporter

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1211479/Proof-womens-chests-really-mans-fixation.html?ITO=1490

Women have long complained that their faces are often the last thing men look at – and now a scientific study has proved them right. Researchers found that virtually half – 47 per cent – of men first glance at a woman’s chest. A third of the so-called ‘first fixations’ are on the waist and hips, while fewer than 20 per cent look at the face. Not only are breasts often the first thing men look at, they also glance at them for longer than any other body part, the experts discovered.
Katherine Jenkins
Perfect figure: Katherine Jenkins' larger chest and slim waist indicate fertility
It’s thought that the reason might be evolutionary, as women with  larger chests and slim waists – such as opera singer Katherine Jenkins – have higher levels of the female hormone oestrogen, indicating greater fertility.

But the researchers conceded that there could be a more prosaic explanation. ‘Men may be looking more often at the breasts because they are simply aesthetically pleasing, regardless of the size,’ they said.  Subjects tested by researchers from New Zealand’s University of Wellington were presented with six images of the same woman, digitally altered to increase or decrease the size of her bust, waist and hips.
Kelly Brook
Lads' favourite: Kelly Brook is admired for her curves
The scientists recorded which areas men looked at first, the number of times they looked, and how long their gaze lasted, using cameras and mirrors to measure tiny eye movements.
The study concluded: ‘Eighty per cent of first fixations were on the breasts and midriff. Men spent consistently more time looking at the breasts and also made significantly more fixations upon them than other regions.’  It also found that men began to gaze at the ‘components of the hourglass figure’ within 0.2 seconds.   The research also discovered that few glances were directed at the arms, lower legs and feet.
